After visting Rome I rode the train North to the La Spezia region. I stayed there for one week in the small town of Le Grazie. My Airbnb hosts were wonderful (buongiorno Angela y Raimondo!), and I got to experience what I would consider a Mediterranean hurricane. It was an eventful week that started with a visit to the town of Portovenere.

I was at this spot a few days before the storm. The stones laying on the ground were benches full of people.

Portovenere

The day after the large storm moved through, the Sea was still very wild. The waves rolling in were 10-20 feet. This town has a harbor to break the swell before it causes any damage.
