Named for the poet who spent time meditating here. He also swam from this point across the gulf of La Spezia.

After visting Rome I rode the train North to the La Spezia region. I stayed there for one week in the small town of Le Grazie. My Airbnb hosts were wonderful (buongiorno Angela y Raimondo!), and I got to experience what I would consider a Mediterranean hurricane. It was an eventful week that started with a visit to the town of Portovenere.
