Ground level is where all of the people are standing. The level beneath that, which is now exposed, would have been used for moving people and animals and was covered by a wood floor.

After spending two weeks in Greece I flew to Rome, Italy. While I was there I visited the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, the Piazza Venezia, the Colosseum, and the Vatican.
